According to a national poll conducted by Harris/Decima, Canadians appear to be already (and somewhat surprisingly) feeling better about the prospects for the economic future. The polling agency reports that Canadians feel the economic bad news is now bouncing along the bottom and will soon move upward. Statistically, consumer confidence rose in the period from December to February to 67.0, the highest the index has been since August 2008.
In December 2008, only 35% thought it was a good time to make a major purchase; in February that number had risen to 41% who said that now is a good time to make a major purchase.
